LEGACY
Asian Philanthropy Moves From Generosity To System Design
Alliance interviewed Tan Sri Nazir Razak, who built CIMB into one of ASEAN's largest banking groups and now chairs Ikhlas Capital. The conversation focused on Asian philanthropy, trust, capital, generational change and the financing gap around sustainable development in the region.
Nazir's strongest point is that generosity alone is not enough. He argues that impact capital needs measurement, better risk structures and government interfaces that let private capital follow. For leaders who have already made money, legacy becomes less about donation size and more about fixing incentives.
