Europe Buys Its Own Route Back To Orbit
The Exploration Company won an ESA contract worth up to EUR 760 million to build and fly Europe's first commercial cargo capsule to the International Space Station. The award includes EUR 310 million for an initial demonstration mission and up to EUR 450 million for two optional missions.
The contract turns European space ambition into a procurement-backed company-building path. Coming days after a EUR 387 million Series C, the award gives The Exploration Company non-dilutive validation and a demanding customer. It also shows how sovereign capability, startup financing and industrial policy are increasingly tied together.
