Nordic Seed Capital Moves Up The First-Check Ladder

Copenhagen-based Seed Capital closed Fund V at EUR 130 million and plans to back 15 to 17 Nordic startups. Initial checks will range from EUR 3 million to EUR 6 million, with focus areas including fintech, cybersecurity, resilience and AI-driven B2B companies as the firm expands beyond Denmark.

The interesting move is not just fund size; it is the shift toward larger first checks in a tougher venture market. Seed investors are trying to own more of the early company-building phase. For founders, that changes the first institutional conversation from survival capital to strategic company design.
