NATO opens its investor club, and twenty of the first twenty-four are European

NATO's Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic, known as DIANA, has named the first 24 investors in the NATO DIANA Capital Network, launched in April 2026. Twenty are European-based, or 83% of the launch class, among them Bpifrance, DTCP and Project A. Members gain structured access to DIANA's screened company pipeline, closed convenings with NATO leadership, and a zero-fee model.

The capital is already moving: EU-Startups counted roughly €1.73 billion across ten defence and dual-use financings in 2026, led by Quantum Systems' €1 billion Series D, ICEYE's €450 million Series F and Kraken Technology Group's €152.9 million Series B. Dedicated vehicles followed, including DTCP's €500 million Project Liberty and Lakestar's €262.2 million Resilience I Fund. The screening decides where that money lands rather than the loudest round.
