Music royalties turned into a tradable asset, funded with two million euros

ANote Music, the Luxembourg-based marketplace for buying, selling and earning music royalties, closed a €2 million round led by Seventure Partners alongside ScaleFund, with existing investors participating. Founded in 2018 by Marzio F. Schena, Matteo Cernuschi and Grégoire Mathonet and launched in 2020, the platform now holds more than 100,000 songs across 36 listed catalogues, 52,000 user accounts and over €28 million in cumulative transaction value.

The capital arrives attached to three stated priorities rather than a general mandate: more income-producing catalogues from labels, publishers, artists and songwriters; user acquisition across Europe; and continued research and development on the platform and mobile apps. Schena frames the gap being closed as fair valuations for rights holders who sell and recurring royalty income for those who buy, a destination set before the money landed rather than after.
