Exited founders put their proceeds back into LAUNCHub's third fund

LAUNCHub Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Sofia, has closed a first tranche of 65 million euros for its third fund, which targets more than 75 million euros. Backers include the European Investment Fund, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, family offices and more than ten founders from its own portfolio who have already exited their companies.

Founded in 2012, the firm reports close to 100 companies backed, 18 exits and more than 700 million euros in follow-on funding raised by its portfolio. The detail that distinguishes this close is where part of the capital originates: money that left founders' hands at exit returning as commitments, rather than resting idle. Fund III plans around 25 investments with tickets from 300,000 to 3 million euros.
