Lyon accountancy Dougs takes fifty million euros after years of self-funded profit
Dougs, a Lyon-based accounting company serving small businesses, raised 50 million euros from Expedition Growth Capital, as reported on 15 October 2026. Profitable since its founding and self-funded until a first round in 2023, it serves more than 50,000 businesses, generates over 50 million euros in annual recurring revenue and reports gross margins above 80 percent, against an industry norm below 50 percent.
The money coming in is the least revealing part of the story. For years Dougs grew on what it kept rather than what it raised: margins above 80 percent mean most of each euro billed never leaves as production cost. Patrick Maurice, chief executive and co-founder, describes the new round the same way: finish automating production, then spend the time it frees getting closer to clients.
