Masia closes an 18 million euro debut fund and opens a four-floor Barcelona house

Masia, a Barcelona venture capital platform founded in 2025 by Carlos Trenchs and Pepe Borrell, closed its debut fund at 18 million euros in October 2026, backed by more than 70 limited partners and two institutional investors. Alongside the close, the firm opened Masia House, a four-floor, 1,000 square metre space in Barcelona's Gràcia neighbourhood for founders, investors and operators.

When Masia launched in May 2025, it set out to deploy 20 million euros across sixty pre-Seed and Seed investments; by October 2026 it reports 46 companies and 60 founders backed. The firm does not lead rounds or take board seats, so its stated aim rests on network and a building rather than on control, a bet Carlos Trenchs frames as the conviction that capital alone does not create innovation.
